At PaperHands in Martinborough we design and handscreen our range of wallpapers. We use premium waterbased solvent free inks, sourced internationally to the highest environmental standards. The paper base is 100% natural wood fibres with no vinyl component. Since 2009 we have worked on our own range of hand drawn designs - based on NZ Flora and Fauna and a desire to create designs that are distinctive.

Recently we have been working on a couple of collaborations -

For our latest release PaperHands have worked with Digital Artist - Mitch Manuel to bring some of his stunning NZ inspired designs to the world of wallpaper. 3 new designs – Ripeka, Whetu and Tikitiki draw on Maori and Cook Island traditional forms to create patterns, depending on the colours printed the patterns can feel more traditional or contemporary. Go to the Our Designs page to see the new releases.

We are also excited to have been invited by Resene to re-print a range of papers from their “Mason Handprints” Archive. William Mason was a leading supplier of NZ handprinted wallpapers and fabrics in  the 60’s and 70’s. Go to Resene to see the range, or instore at a Resene Colorshop to see sample books.
